The tourism sector is an important driver of growth in gross domestic product (GDP) and employment in ASEAN, but the COVID-19 pandemic has severely disrupted it, and it needs to adapt accordingly. Governments in this region face an increasing urgency to introduce structural reforms to support sustainable economic recovery. This masterclass will discuss the importance of regional cooperation in Southeast Asia to expand the tourism industry and support sustainable economic recovery. 

Objectives

To increase participants’ understanding of ASEAN’s post pandemic tourism recovery challenges and efforts needed

To raise new questions and issues in connection with regional economic cooperation to revive tourism in ASEAN
