Bio

Jens Thraenhart has over 25 years of international travel, tourism, and hospitality experience. He founded Chameleon Strategies,
an Affiliate Member of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and co-founded leading China travel marketing agency Dragon Trail. Mr. Thraenhart was appointed by the tourism ministries of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, PR China, Thailand, and Vietnam to head the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO) as its Executive Director in 2014. He has since spearheaded various award-winning initiatives such as the private-sector regional tourism board Destination Mekong, including the Mekong Tourism Advisory Group (MeTAG) . Mr. Thraenhart has been recognized as one of the Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Travel and Hospitality three times, was recognized by Travel Agent Magazine as one of the Top Rising Stars in Travel, and was added to the Hall of Global Tourism Heroes in 2021. He is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Affiliate Members Board of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
